Things That You Need To Know If You Wish To Register A Company In Malaysia

Have you ever wondered what are the information required to register a company in Malaysia? Here are a few required information…

First, You need to propose your own company name with its meaning.

Second, You need to state the your principal business activities.

Thirdly, You need to photocopy all the directors & shareholders NRIC or Passport.

Fourth, You need to state the latest proof of residential address of all directors such as utility bills(if your address is different from your NRIC address)

Fifth, You need to state the paid up capital information.

Sixth, You need to state all director’s and shareholder’s business occupation, email and contact number.

Seventh, You need to state the percentage of shareholding of each shareholders.

Eighth, You need to state the information of the beneficial owner if he/she is not listed as the named shareholder.

Lastly, you need to state the address of the principal place of business. 

Requirements to set up a company…

Firstly, you need a minimum paid-up capital of RM1 only

Secondly, you need a minimum of one (1) subscriber to the share(s) of the company.

Thirdly, you need to take note that the director of the company need to be at least 18 years of age and are residing in Malaysia. He/she is not a bankrupt and has not been convicted and imprisoned for a period of past 5 years.

Fouth, you need a minimum of one Company Secretary  where the Company Secretary must be a member of any one of the prescribed professional bodies or licensed by the SSM.

Fifth, you need to have a registered office in Malaysia to which all communications and notices may be addressed. It is a normal practice in Malaysia to have the seceretarial office as the registered office.

Sixth, do take note that it is a statutory requirement to have at least one resident directors for setting-up a private limited company in Malaysia.
